The Baz'n Camp project was born at the end of 2017, in collaboration with the BAZ'N SPORT player agency, led by Nassim Baziz, an NBA-certified player agent.
The camp allows young players to experience the demands of the professional world by working alongside the agency's professional players throughout the duration of the camp. It also provides an opportunity to share knowledge and build a network of qualified coaches from different countries.
This collaboration also enables them to work with specialists in identifying future prospects throughout the camp.
The transition from young athlete to professional requires a mentality of constant effort, which the camp aims to foster, following the example of its sponsor, Michael Piétrus
Camp sponsor Mickael Piétrus, a French player originally from Guadeloupe, joined the Pau training center.
Mickael Piétrus has been selected several times for the French national team, earning a gold medal with the U18 team, a bronze medal with the U20 team, and a bronze medal with the senior A team. He then joined the major American league, the NBA, in 2003, drafted 11th overall, alongside LeBron James, Chris Bosh, Dwayne Wade, and Carmelo Anthony (a record at the time for a French player). Over his 10 NBA seasons, he had the opportunity to play in the NBA Finals against Kobe Bryant's Los Angeles Lakers.
A role model, particularly for his dedication and work ethic, Piétrus serves as an ideal example for the transition from young player to professional.
Today, the project is well-known and recognized in the basketball world. Baz'n Camp now welcomes young players from all over the world. The goal is, of course, to work on basketball fundamentals with foreign coaches, bringing fresh perspectives. However, the organizers also aim to instill a rich cultural experience and a strong work ethic in all participants.
